Peter Pence was born on 29 April 1804 at Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.¹ He was the son of John Pence and Sarah [—?—]. Peter Pence married, at age 26, Susanna Updegraff, daughter of George Updegraff and Elizabeth [—?—], on Thursday, 2 December 1830 at Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend John Hays Grier.¹ Peter Pence died on 29 May 1847 at age 43 years and 1 month.¹ He was buried in the Old Union Methodist Cemetery, located in Shelby County, Indiana.¹
He was carpenter and farmer.
