     Viola Jane Pence was born circa 1843 at Laporte, La Porte County, Indiana.1 She was the daughter of Peter Pence and Susanna Updegraff. Viola Jane Pence married George W. Griffith on Thursday, 18 April 1867 at Hillsboro, Montgomery County, Illinois. Viola Jane Pence died after 1906.1
