     Nancy Ellen Pence was born circa 1847 at Laporte, La Porte County, Indiana.1 She was the daughter of Peter Pence and Susanna Updegraff. Nancy Ellen Pence married Abner Lawler, son of J. F. Lawler and Susan [—?—], on Thursday, 9 November 1865 at Hillsboro, Montgomery County, Illinois. Nancy Ellen Pence died before 1906.1
