Dorothea Heim was born on 8 February 1835 at Blooming Grove, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Jacob Heim and Regina Rachael Steiger. Dorothea Heim married, at age 23, Frederick Schäffer, age 24, son of Friedrich Schaeffer and Elizabeth Guinter-Strobel, in November 1858.1 Dorothea Heim died on 10 February 1911 at Blooming Grove, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 76 years and 2 days. She was buried in the Blooming Grove Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
