William Frederick Shafer was born on 21 May 1868 at Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Johann Frederick Schäfer and Elisabeth Heim. William Frederick Shafer married, at age 22, Martha Alice Bidelspacher, age 18, daughter of Christian Jacob Bidelspacher and Catharina Waltz, on Thursday, 8 January 1891.2 William Frederick Shafer died on 19 March 1936 at Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 67 years, 9 months and 27 days.2 He was buried in the Blooming Grove Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
