Phillip Koch was born on 3 August 1846 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Jacob Koch and Mary Kiess.1 Phillip Koch first married, at age 27, Regina Rachel Neff, age 22, daughter of John Neff and Sarah Young, on Thursday, 19 March 1874 at Crawford County, Ohio.2 Phillip Koch married a second time, at age 40, Mary Ann Lust, age 26 on Thursday, 24 February 1887 at Crawford County, Ohio.2 Phillip Koch died on 27 September 1931 at Crawford County, Ohio, at age 85 years, 1 month and 24 days.2
Phillip's surname has also been spelled as Cook.2 He became a widower at the age of 39 with the death of Regina on 4 October 1885.2
