Ida Mae Shafer was born on 13 January 1897 at Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 She was the daughter of William Frederick Shafer and Martha Alice Bidelspacher. Ida Mae Shafer first married, at age 19, Howard Raymond Beach, age 20, son of Daniel Beach and Mary Amanda Fischer, on Thursday, 11 January 1917.1 Ida Mae Shafer married a second time, at age 50, Reuben Young Lehman, age 66, son of John Philip Lehman and Louisa Keiser, on Saturday, 22 November 1947.1 Ida Mae Shafer died on 31 July 1978 at Cogan Station, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 81 years, 6 months and 18 days.3,2 She was buried in the Blooming Grove Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
She was widowed at age 44 by the death of Howard on 16 January 1941.1
