Catherine Kiess was born on 25 November 1854 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 She was the daughter of John Kiess and Mary Marquardt. Catherine Kiess married, at age 22, Daniel Ulmer, age 23, son of Isaac L. Ulmer and Salome Shafer, on Thursday, 22 November 1877.3,1 Catherine Kiess died on 6 June 1915 at Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 60 years, 6 months and 12 days.4 She was buried in the State Road United Methodist Church Cemetery, located in Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
