He and Mary Ann Wurster appeared on the census of 10 June 1880 at Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Lorenzo was the oldest son of a family of five and of course was the one on whom his father depended to help with the work until such time when his father could devote all his time to his home and family. Lorenzo proved to be a competent and dependable young man and in the spring of 1872 he took Mary Ann Wurster, daughter of Adam and Mary Wurster, for his bride. They set up house keeping in the original log cabin and he continued to farm and improve the land for his father. Lorenzo purchased the farm from his father, and moved into the big house with their young family and cared for Aquilla and Jane until their respective deaths.
