Jane Martin
F, (8 April 1815 - 15 November 1898)
Jane Martin was born on 8 April 1815 possibly in Ireland. She was the daughter of William Martin and Mary Welch. Jane Martin married, at age 20, Aquilla Lovell, age 28, son of William A. Lovell, on Thursday, 10 September 1835. Jane Martin died on 15 November 1898 at age 83 years, 7 months and 7 days. She was buried in the Woodward Township Cemetery, located in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
She and Aquilla Lovell were married and set up house keeping near his work. Several children were born to them and when Lorenzo was nine years old, Aquilla bought the tract of land in Anthony Township, Lycoming County containing nearly 200 acres, all timber. They moved to the new home and lived in a two room log cabin already on the land. The tract was all forest so Aquilla continued to work at the Foundry, walking to and from a distance of some 12 miles, as the crow flies, to spend short periods of time with his family. Later with the help of neighbors and friends enough timber was cut, burned and the land was put into shape for farming. He then built a larger more comfortable home and embarked on his new career as a farmer. The original log cabin in which they lived, while not on the same site is still standing on the farm. Jane Martin and Aquilla Lovell appeared on the census of 20 August 1860 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
