David Watson Lovell was born on 31 August 1875 at Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Lorenzo Dow Lovell and Mary Ann Wurster. David Watson Lovell married, at age 25, Mary Elizabeth Alexander, age 19, daughter of Thomas Winfield Alexander and Margaret A. Olen, on Tuesday, 27 August 1901.1 David Watson Lovell died on 20 January 1946 at Linden, Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 70 years, 4 months and 20 days. He was buried on 23 January 1946 in the Woodward Township Cemetery, located in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Harold C. Hornbeck.
David Watson Lovell appeared on the census of 10 June 1880 in the household of Lorenzo Dow Lovell and Mary Ann Wurster at Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. David Watson Lovell was a farmer between 1890 and 1935. He appears in family portrait circa 1900. He was a member of the Pine Run Evangelical United Brethren Church. His obituary was published sometime in January 1946 in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
D. Watson Lovell, 70, Linden R.D., died at his home at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 1946.
He had lived in that vicinity all his life and was a member of the Pine Run Evangelical Church and a director of the Woodward Township Cemetery Association.
Surviving are his wife Elizabeth; the following sons and daughters, Ellis L., Linden R.D; Paul M., city; Donald W., Mrs. Norma Clark and Mrs. Fred U. Stabler, all of Salladasburg; two brothers, J. Smith Lovell, Montorusville, Roy D., New Orleans; one sister, Mrs. G. B. Wurster, Jersey Shore; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the Pine Run Evangelical Church at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. H. C. Hornbeck, pastor, will officiate. Burial in Woodward Township Cemetery.
Friends may call at the home after noon today.
