     Mary Rebecca Kurtz was born on 16 September 1902 at Warrensville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.5,6,4 She was the daughter of Jonathan C. Kurtz and Estella Lowe.7,8,9 Mary Rebecca Kurtz married Mahlon M. Kurtz, son of Samuel Kurtz and Rebecca Young, circa 1930.10,11 Mary Rebecca Kurtz died on 19 July 2000 at Manor Care Health Center, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 97 years, 10 months and 3 days.12,4,13 She was buried on 22 July 2000 in the Kurtz Family Cemetery, located in Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.14,15
     Mary Rebecca Kurtz the sister of Anna M. Kurtz was listed in her obituary on 27 June 2000 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 Her obituary was published on 20 July 2000 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:

     Mary R. Kurtz, 97, of Montoursville, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, in Manor Care Health Services, where she had been a resident since February 1998. Her husband, Mahlon M. Kurtz, died in 1959.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Montoursville, and its United Methodist Women. She was a member of Montoursville Senior Citizens and the Golden Agers. She was a graduate of Christian Hill School in Eldred Township.

Born Sept. 16, 1902, in Warrensville, she was a daughter of Jonathan and Estella Lowe Kurtz. Surviving are a son, Gordon S. of this city; two daughters, Rita Cushenbery of Omaha, Neb., and Ruth Litzelfelner of Fredericksburg, Texas; a brother, Harold Kurtz; two sisters, Elma Waltz and Madeline Koser; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church, 700 Fairview Drive, Montoursville. Burial will be in Kurtz Cemetery, Eldred Township. Friends may call in the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Spitler's, 733 Broad Street, Montoursville.7 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Mary's last known residence was Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.4
