Harold A. Kurtz1,2,3,4

     Harold A. Kurtz was born on 1 August 1919 at Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.5,1 He was the son of Jonathan C. Kurtz and Estella Lowe.6,7,1 Harold A. Kurtz married, at age 23, Rita Marie Fox, age 18, daughter of Frederick A. Fox and Zedeana Grodivant, on Sunday, 3 January 1943.1 Harold A. Kurtz died on 12 February 2006 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 86 years, 6 months and 11 days.1 He was buried on 16 February 2006. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Beverly D. Cotner.1
     Harold A. Kurtz, Mary Rebecca Kurtz's brother was listed in her obituary on 20 July 2000 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.8

     Harold A. Kurtz the brother of Elma Estella Kurtz was listed in her obituary on 19 March 2005 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.9 His obituary was published on 14 February 2006 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:

     Harold A. Kurtz, 86, of 2665 Northway Road, Loyalsock Twp., died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at the Williamsport Hospital.

He was born Aug. 1, 1919, in Eldred Twp., a son of Jonathon and Estella Lowe Kurtz.

He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Loyalsock Twp., and retired from Stroehman’s Bakery after 36 years of service.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing and woodworking.

On Jan. 3, 2006, he celebrated his 63rd wedding anniversary with his wife, the former Rita M. Fox.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Carol A. Simcox of Hawkinsville, Ga., Patricia M. (Thomas) Crossley and Laura L. Weber, both of Williamsport; a sister, Madeline Koser of Montoursville; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 2510 Northway Road, Loyalsock Twp., with the Rev. Beverly D. Cotner, his pastor, officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint Anthony’s Center, 125 East Willow St., Williamsport PA 17701. Arrangements are by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.1
