     Andrew J. Kiess was born on 5 December 1846 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 He was the son of John Kiess and Mary Marquardt. Andrew J. Kiess married, at age 22, Sarah Jane Kress, age 17, daughter of Hiram Kress and Sarah Smith, on Tuesday, 9 November 1869 at Newberry, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3,4 Andrew J. Kiess died on 30 June 1906 at Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 59 years, 6 months and 25 days.3 He was buried in the Woodward Township Cemetery, located in Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.

Kiess. The original article was from a scrapbook of personal memorabilia compiled by Fred R. Dochter (1895-1966) through out his life. His son has continued to add articles to these. Viewed at the home of Frederick Stabler, RD #3, Box 156 (now Jobs Run Road), Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania in September 1993, who borrowed them from the current owner, his son. Fred W.
