Samuel Jay MacMullan III was born on 10 January 1916 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Samuel Jay MacMullen Jr. and Ruth McCormick Foresman.1 Samuel Jay MacMullan III married, at age 21, Ellen Snyder, age 19, daughter of George Duncan Snyder and Miriam Ellen Harrison, on Saturday, 11 September 1937 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 Samuel Jay MacMullan III died on 9 November 1992 at age 76 years, 9 months and 30 days.2

He was on the Boards of the Second National Bank, King's Daus, Hospital, the YMCA, the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce and the Bellefonte Country Club.1 He became a widower at the age of 57 with the death of Ellen on 27 August 1973.1 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Samuel's last known residence was Middletown, Butler County, Ohio.2
