Samuel Gibson Updegraff was born on 2 May 1846.1 He was the son of Derrick K. Updegraff and Margaret Bennet. Samuel Gibson Updegraff married, at age 30, Susan Estelle Stevens on Friday, 6 October 1876 at Newberry, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend Alexander Henry.1 Samuel Gibson Updegraff died on 2 November 1927 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 81 years and 6 months.1
He appeared on the census of 1 August 1860 in the household of Derrick K. Updegraff and Margaret Bennet at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Samuel Gibson Updegraff appeared on the census of 19 July 1870 in the household of David Watson Foresman and Margaret Simmons McCormick at Williamsport, 7th Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
