     Carl Edwin Kiess was born on 29 June 1908 at Pleasant Valley, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.3,2 He was the son of Charles Franklin Kiess and Salome Anne Shafer. Carl Edwin Kiess married, at age 23, Cora Catherine Brucklacher, age 21, daughter of Norman Edward Brucklacher and Catherine Jane Frey, on Monday, 30 November 1931.3,1 Carl Edwin Kiess died on 1 July 1979 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 71 years and 2 days.2 He was buried in the Blooming Grove Cemetery, located in Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
