David W. Short was born on 11 May 1932.1,2 He was the son of George A. Short.3 David W. Short married Kathryn Grace Waltz, daughter of Elmer Ellsworth Waltz and Josephine Casselberry Bennett, circa 1955 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Bottle Run, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend Daniel Simpson Robinson and Reverend Clyde E. Rickabaugh.3,2,4 David W. Short died on 18 March 2003 at Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, at age 70 years, 10 months and 7 days.1,2 He was buried on 21 March 2003 in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend John W. Brokopp.2
David W. Short graduated in 1951 from Chagrin Falls High School, located in Chagrin Falls, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.3 He was in military service with the United States Army circa 1954 Korea.3 The marriage announcement for David W. Short and Kathryn Grace Waltz was published circa 1955 in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. This announcement stated:

Miss Waltz was graduated from the Williamsport High School class of 1952 and was employed in the office of the Williamsport Wholesale Grocery Company. Mr. Short was graduated from the Chagrin Falls High School class of 1951 and has recently returned after serving with the Army in Korea.3 As of 1962, David W. Short and Kathryn Grace Waltz lived in Chagrin Falls, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.3,5 As of 1985, David W. Short lived at 213 Alberon Drive, Park Ridge, New Jersey.6
