     Elmer Ellsworth Waltz was born on 1 April 1900 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.7,1 He was the son of Harry Edward Waltz and C. Jenny Waltz.2 Elmer Ellsworth Waltz married, at age 29, Josephine Casselberry Bennett, age 23, daughter of George Washington Bennett and Loretta Carrie Casselberry, on Friday, 27 September 1929 at Presbyterian Church, New Castle, Clearfield or Schuylkill (?) County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend Charles Christian Tevis.5 Elmer Ellsworth Waltz died on 19 January 1986 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 85 years, 9 months and 18 days.7,1 He was buried on 22 January 1986 in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.7

MR., MRS. WALTZ TO OBSERVE 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer E. Waltz, Williamsport RD 5, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Tuesday. They will be honored at a family dinner on Saturday evening at the Farmer's Best Restaurant.

The couple was married in New Castle by the Rev. Charles C. Tevis, brother-in-law of Mrs. Waltz.

The former Josephine Casselberry Bennett, Mrs. Waltz is a native of Bottle Run. Mr. Waltz has been engaged in farming. He and his wife have resided at the same farm since their marriage.

They are the parents of two sons and three daughters: Clair E., Cogan Station RD 2; Harold E. and Mrs. Marvin E. Fishel, Williamsport RD 2; Mrs. David W. Short, Park Ridge, N.J; and Miss Mary L. Waltz, at home. There are four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
As of 1938, Elmer Ellsworth Waltz and Josephine Casselberry Bennett lived at Williamsport RD 2, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2

     Elmer Ellsworth was listed in the obituary for C. Jenny Waltz, in February 1938 in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, as her son.2 Elmer Ellsworth Waltz was a farmer in 1950. The anniversary announcement for Elmer Ellsworth Waltz and Josephine Casselberry Bennett was published on 27 September 1964 Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. This announcement stated:

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer E. Waltz, Williamsport RD 2, are observing their 35th wedding anniversary today. They were married in a Presbyterian Church in New Castle by Mrs. Waltz brother-in-law, the Rev. Charles C. Tevis.

Mrs. Waltz is the former Josephine C. Bennett. She and her husband have lived at the farm where they now reside since the time of their marriage. Mr. Waltz, a member of the Dairymen's league, is engaged in farming.

They have three daughters and two sons: Beverly M. and Mary L., at home; Mrs. David Short, Chargin Falls, Ohio; Clair E., Cogan Station RD 2 and Harold E., Williamsport RD 2. They have two grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Waltz are members of Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Bottle Run. Interestingly, the church was built on property that belonged at one time to Joseph Bennett, Mrs. Waltz grandfather.5
