Ernest Clifford Kinley was born on 28 March 1925 at Cogan Station, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of William Boyd Kinley and Rachel Dora Waltz. Ernest Clifford Kinley married, at age 20, Norma Louise Goodrich, age 21, daughter of James L. Goodrich and Zoe Call, on Thursday, 22 November 1945 at Messiah Lutheran Church, South Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.2 Ernest Clifford Kinley died on 12 December 2002 at Pleasant Hill Road, Cogan Station, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 77 years, 8 months and 14 days. He was buried on 16 December 2002 in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
His obituary was published on 13 December 2002 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Ernest C. Kinley, 77, of 2711 Pleasant Hill Road, Cogan Station, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at his home. He and his wife, the former Norma L. Goodrich, celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on Nov. 22.
Born March 28, 1925, in Cogan Station, he was a son of William and Rachel Waltz Kinley.
Ernie was a self-employed dairy farmer and a school bus driver for the Williamsport Area School District for over 50 years. He was a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church. An avid bowler, he also enjoyed NASCAR, football and hunting.
Surviving besides his wife are three children, Thomas E. (Kimberly) and Douglas C. (Charlene), both of Cogan Station, and Deborah L. Kinley (Wayne) Monds of city; three sisters, Dorothy Persun, Florence Menne and Eleanor Horn, all of Cogan Station; a brother, Ralph of city; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandsons.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Haire, Hazel Robinson and Sarah Mahaffey, and two brothers, Elmer and Floyd Kinley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday from Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., with the Rev. Dr. Wayne L. Hepler officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at Sanders from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
