Annie E. Weaver
F, (28 April 1864 - 9 August 1902)
Annie E. Weaver was born on 28 April 1864.1 She was the daughter of William Weaver and Elizabeth E. Wagner. Annie E. Weaver married, at age 21, William Sylvester Updegraff, son of George Updegraff and Deborah Jane Paulhamus, on Tuesday, 29 September 1885 at Long Reach, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend Alexander Henry.1 Annie E. Weaver died on 9 August 1902 at Newberry, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 38 years, 3 months and 12 days. Annie died in the morning on Saturday at home at approximately 8:00 a.m. She died of internal injuries as the result of an accident. She was run over by a loaded hay wagon that William was backing out of the barn. The wagon ran over the length of her body--just missing her head. She was partially blind and deaf. She was 37 yeaars-old and left six children under the age of 10. On her deathbed, and in the presence of witnesses, she told William he was not to blame.
Annie was the granddaughter of Ezra Wagner. He left daughters Ann and Carrie $3000. When Annie died she had an inheritance of $1500 to be given to her children. Carothers was the executor of the will and gave William a loan of $150.00 per year for the care of the children until they were of age to receive the balance of their inheritances. See Book Z, Orphans Court Docket, pages 133 - 134 for records of her estate in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The deed to the farm was in Annie’s name. The land was convey to Annie E. by H. C. Parsons et ux by deed 5 March 1890.
