James Marshall Updegraff was born in 1856 at Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of George Updegraff and Deborah Jane Paulhamus. James Marshall Updegraff married Angeline Bucher circa 1878. James Marshall Updegraff died in 1933 at Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 77 years. He was buried in the Buchanan Baptist Church Cemetery, located in Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
