Joseph Updegraff

     Joseph Updegraff was born circa 1835 at Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Joseph Updegraff and Rebecca [—?—]. Joseph Updegraff married Mary Slaughenwhite circa 1857.1 Joseph Updegraff married Emily C. Harris, daughter of Peter Harris and Catherine Hall, on Wednesday, 1 February 1899 at Farragut, Upper Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 Joseph Updegraff died on 26 November 1896 at in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
     He Joseph is listed in the 1850 Census as a laborer in the household of
Emanuel Kees (Keis, Keiss), living in Hepburn Twp., Lycoming Co., PA. Joseph
was a Private in the Civil War, discharged from Company C, 203 Regiment of PA
Volunteers. He was later a member of the Montoursville, PA Soldiers Veterans
Association. He resided in Fairfield Twp., Lycoming Co., PA. He left a will
found in Will Book #8, Page 441, Lycoming County Court House, made 29 Mar
1895, and proved 26 Nov 1896. Children listed are: John, James, David, Sarah,
Annie, Rose, Katharine and Sophia. He Buried in Lot #128.
