     July Ann Updegraff was born in September 1867 at Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Joseph Updegraff and Mary Slaughenwhite. July Ann Updegraff married, at age 25, Isaiah Carpenter, age 24, son of Charles Carpenter and Hannah [—?—], on Thursday, 9 March 1893 at Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend H. F. Cares.1
     July Ann Updegraff also went by the name of Annie. She and Isaiah Carpenter appeared on the census of 9 June 1900 at Montoursville, 1st Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
