Jean L. Russ was born on 18 August 1927 at Salladasburg, Mifflin Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Verus Henry Russ and Wanda M. Voneida. Jean L. Russ married Robert G. Seamon circa 1947. Jean L. Russ married, at age 43, Robert Ellis Waltz, age 42, son of Ellis Thompson Waltz and Kathryn Viola Mahaffey, on Sunday, 13 December 1970. Jean L. Russ died on 15 October 2006 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 79 years, 1 month and 27 days.1

Jean L. Waltz, 79, of 467 Pleasant Hill Road, Cogan Station, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at the Williamsport Hospital following a brief illness.
Jean’s first husband, Robert G. Seamon, died in 1969. She and her second husband, Robert E. Waltz, celebrated their 35th anniversary Dec. 13, 2005.
Jean was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School, a member of Lycova Grange #2006, Pomona Grange #28, State and National Grange, and Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church, where he was a former church choir member.
Born Aug. 18, 1927, in Mifflin Township, she was the daughter of Verus H. and Wanda M. Voneida Russ.
Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Lester W. (Linda) Seamon of Linden; daughters, Holly A. Seamon at home, Mona J. (Robert) Hanford of Montgomery and Debra M. (Tom) Hughes of Middleburg; stepsons, Stephen R. (Kathy) Waltz of Cogan Station and David W. (Cindy) Waltz of Jersey Shore; a stepdaughter, Roberta (Donald) Bower of Williamsport; a brother, Charles A. (Jean) Russ of Lewistown; a sister-in-law, Edna Russ of Jersey Shore; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by a son, Robert G. Seamon Jr., and a brother, V. Frederic Russ.
A memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, 656 West Creek Road, Hepburnville, with the Rev. William J. Younger officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. A grange service will be at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, or the Muscular Dystrophy Association, c/o Wachovia Bank, 100 Union St., Taylor, PA 18517. Knight-Confer Funeral Home.1
