Kurtz and Estella Lowe.8,9,10 Elma Estella Kurtz married Sylvester Harrison Waltz, son of William Harrison Waltz and Christine S. Hausser, in 1931.11,12 Elma Estella Kurtz died on 17 March 2005 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 95 years and 27 days.13,5 She was buried on 21 March 2005 in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, located in Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Glenn F. Myers.14

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Sylvester H. Waltz Sr., on June 3, 1979. Together, they operated a farm in Eldred Township. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by a daughter, Evelyn R. Schriner; a son, Floyd E. Waltz; three sisters; and five brothers.
Elma enjoyed flowers and the outdoors and loved her family.
She is survived by two sons, Grant H. (Evelyn) Waltz and Sylvester H. "Shorty" (Kathleen) Waltz Jr., both of Williamsport; two daughters, Janice W. (Harry) Odell of Muncy and Shirley A. Hanford of Harrisburg; a brother, Harold Kurtz of Williamsport; a sister, Madeline Koser of Montoursville; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including her niece, Peggy Klotz, whom she helped raise.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Warrensville, 5685 Warrensville Road, Williamsport, PA 17701, with the Rev. Glen F. Myers, her pastor, officiating. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to S.H.S. Williamsport Hospital Foundation, I.C.U. Unit, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701, or to the First Baptist Church of Warrensville. Arrangements are in care of Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.10
