Susan Hower was born on 7 May 1850 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Christian Hauer and Catherine Kiess. Susan Hower married George W. Waltz, son of Gottleib Waltz and Catharina Hettner, circa 1871.2 Susan Hower died on 4 March 1931 at Linden, Woodward Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 80 years, 9 months and 25 days.1 She was buried in the Buchanan Baptist Church Cemetery, located in Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
She appeared on the census of 2 September 1870 in the household of Christian Hauer and Catherine Kiess at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Susan Hower appeared on the census of 16 April 1910 in the household of Howard S. Waltz and Ruth A. Hill at Williamsport, 11th Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
