Raymond S. Kiess1

     Raymond S. Kiess was born on 17 October 1884.2,1 He was the son of Solomon Kiess and Lydia Waltz. Raymond S. Kiess married Bessie Pepperman, daughter of Charles S. Pepperman and Estella Smith, circa 1912 at Quiggleville Evangelical United Brethren Church parsonage, Quiggleville, Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend C. B. Snyder.2,3 Raymond S. Kiess died in July 1967 at Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 82 years and 8 months.1
     He was a carpenter in 1920. The anniversary announcement for Raymond S. Kiess and Bessie Pepperman was published sometime in 21 December in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. This announcement stated:

     Mr. and Mrs. Raymond S. Kiess, 821 Prospect Avenue, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently. The couple was married at the parsonage of Quiggleville Evangelical United Brethren Church with Rev. C. B. Snyder officiating at the ceremony. They are members of the St. John's Evangelical United Brethren Church. Mr. Kiess is self employed as a carpenter. They are the parents of one daughter, Mrs. Reighnard Dugan, State College.3 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Raymond's last known residence was Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
