Vida M. Kiess was born on 13 March 1913.2,1 She was the daughter of Raymond S. Kiess and Bessie Pepperman. Vida M. Kiess first married Raymond Samuel Metzger, son of Jeremiah Matthew Metzger and Alice Catherine Hetner, circa 1936.2 Vida M. Kiess married a second time G. Reinhard Dugan circa 1943.3 Vida M. Kiess died on 29 August 2001 at age 88 years, 5 months and 16 days.1,4
She and Raymond Samuel Metzger appeared on the census of 5 April 1940 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary was published on 30 August 2001 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Vida M. Dugan, of South Williamsport, died Wednesday, August 29, 2001, in Williamsport Hospital.
Born in Williamsport, she was the adopted daughter of Raymond and Bessie Pepperman Kiess. She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Reinhard Dugan.
Mrs. Dugan was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, State College and was a volunteer at Susquehanna Health Systems, Williamsport.
Surviving are a son, Jerry R. Metzger of Ormond Beach, FL; two daughters, Kathleen D. Farrand of Baltimore, MD, Patricia A. Dugan of Linden; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Sanders. The family requests donations in Vida's name be made to World Wildlife Fund, attn: Membership Services, 1250 24th St. NW Washington DC 20037-1132.4 According to the Social Security Administrations Death Index Vida's last known residence was Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
