Clyde Allen Roller was born on 27 May 1894 at Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of John Jacob Roller and Elvira Elyira Marquardt. Clyde Allen Roller married Martha M. Deutschle, daughter of Lawrence Deutschle and Caroline Kathryn Dannaker, circa 1922.2,3 Clyde Allen Roller died on 20 March 1974 at Mifflin Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 79 years, 9 months and 21 days.1 He was buried in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
He appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 in the household of John Jacob Roller and Elvira Elyira Marquardt at Williamsport, 7th Ward, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Clyde Allen Roller retired in 1960 from the Darling Valve Company.1 His obituary was published sometime in March 1974 in the local paper, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
VEHICLE HITS BRIDGE, CITY MAN, 79, IS KILLED
A 79-year-old city man died after the van-type station wagon in which he was a passenger slammed into a concrete bridge abutment along Route 287, north of Salladasburg, late Saturday afternoon. Five other persons, including the driver, suffered minor injuries.
Clyde Allen Roller, Sr., of 743 West Edwin Street, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Williamsport Hospital about 7:30 p.m. Dr. Earl R. Miller, county coroner, said Roller died of multiple internal injuries.
According to State Police, the accident occurred at 5:20 p.m. Saturday about three miles north of Salladasburg in Mifflin Township.
Police said the driver, Lloyd A. Weitzel, 49, of 1006 Louisa Street, apparently lost control of his north-bound station wagon in a heavy snowfall. The van left the road and struck the bridge, police said, Roller was pinned in the wrecked vehicle for approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes before the Jersey Shore Citizens Hose Company ambulance crew could pry him free, according to police.
Treated at the Jersey Shore Hospital were the driver and four other passengers, Lisbeth A. Weitzel, 16, and Nelson L. Weitzel 10, also of 1006 Louisa Street, and Roland R. Horn, 49, and James A. Horn, 18, both of 440 Clark Street, South Williamsort.
The 1974 vehicle, valued at $7,025, was demolished, police said.
Roller was the ninth person to die on county highways this year.

Roller was a 50-year member of the Williamsport Moose Lodge 145. He was also a member of the Susquehanna Chapter 11 of the '700' Bowling Club of America, and was a life member of the Young Men's Democratic Club Inc., and the Dog Run Hunting Clu, Puderbaugh Mountain.
Surviving are three sons, Clyde A. Jr., address unknown; Marlin A., of Cogan Station, and Floyd A., of Huntingdon; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley A. Horn, of South Williamsport; two brothers, Orrin A., of this city, and Harold E., of Naugatuck, Conn; a sister, Mrs. Eva Weitzel, of this city, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sanders', 821 Diamond Street, with the Rev. Charles E. Snyder, pastor of the South Williamsport United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery. There will be no visitation.1
