Victor Paul Sholder was born on 1 May 1900 at farm of Christian (Scholderer) Sholder, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.6,2,3,5 He was the son of Frederick Sholder and Matilda Helen Miller.2 Victor Paul Sholder was baptized at Bethel United Presbyterian Church, Bottle Run, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He married, at age 22, Madeline Elizabeth Hinston, age 18, daughter of George Hinston and Sarah Miller, on Saturday, 1 July 1922 at Saint John's Evangelical United Brethren Church, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.6,2,4 Victor Paul Sholder died on 19 July 1979 at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 79 years, 2 months and 18 days.2,3,4,5 He was buried on 23 July 1979 in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, located in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was officiated by Reverend Reginald W. McInroy.2,3

With no end in sight for World War I, the United States instituted it's third and final registration. It included all men who were between the ages of 18 and 21, and 31 to 45 years of age. This added younger men than the previous registrations, those who were born between September 12, 1897 and September 12, 1900; and added an older group of men, born between September 12, 1873 and September 12, 1888 filled out a draft card on 12 September 1918 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The next of kin was listed as Frederick Sholder. Victor Paul Sholder appears in a family snapshot circa 1930. Also, seated on the porch are most likely Sarah (Miller) and George Hinston, Madeline's parents. He was a truck farmer and also worked at the Tannery also known as the Armour Leather Company between 1932 and 1965.2

They were married in the parsonage of St. John's Evangelical United Brethren Church, now a United Methodist congregation, by the Rev. J. O. Biggs.
Mrs. Sholder is the former Madeline E. Hinston. Mr. Sholder is retired from Armour Leather Company.
They have a son, Donald P., Idaho Falls, Idaho; two grand-daughters; and two great-grand-daughters.7

Mr. Sholder also was a member of the Newberry Republican League.
He and his wife, the former Madeline Hinston, had been married 57 years.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Donald P., of Idaho Falls, Ida; a brother, Nelson, of Oval; two sisters, Mrs. Vinnie Biichle and Mrs. Irma Pryor, both city, two grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sanders', 821 Diamond Street, with the Rev. Reginald W. McInroy, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park.
