William VanBebber was born on 1 January 1810 at Claiborne County, Tennessee.1 He was the son of John VanBebber and Margaret Chrisman. William VanBebber first married Elizabeth Barbee, daughter of William W. Barbee and Rachel Carlock, in 1829. William VanBebber married a second time, at age 56, Emily Jane Barbee, age 31, daughter of William W. Barbee and Rachel Carlock, on Thursday, 5 April 1866 at Ray County, Missouri.1 William VanBebber died on 13 December 1870 at Ray County, Missouri, at age 60 years, 11 months and 12 days.1
He became a widower at the age of 54 with the death of Elizabeth on 8 August 1864.
