     Emily Jane Barbee was born on 23 January 1835 at Tennessee.1 She was the daughter of William W. Barbee and Rachel Carlock.1 Emily Jane Barbee first married William H. Herron circa 1853.1 Emily Jane Barbee married a second time, at age 31, William VanBebber, age 56, son of John VanBebber and Margaret Chrisman, on Thursday, 5 April 1866 at Ray County, Missouri.1 Emily Jane Barbee died on 18 August 1913 at Grant Township, Caldwell County, Missouri, at age 78 years, 6 months and 26 days.1
     She was widowed by the death of William in 1864.1 For the second time she was widowed at age 35 by the death of William on 13 December 1870.1
