     Joseph Burson was born on 8 January 1876 at Jerseyville (later Shade), Athens County, Ohio.1 He was the son of James B. Burson and Mary Morrison Creamer. Joseph Burson married, at age 26, Nora E. Riggs, age 22, daughter of Wesley Riggs and Lorena Heart, on Thursday, 6 February 1902 at Athens County, Ohio.1 Joseph Burson died on 21 September 1962 at age 86 years, 8 months and 13 days.1 He was buried in the Burson Cemetery, located in Shade, Athens County, Ohio.1
