Thomas H. Heim, 87, passed away on September 20, 2007, at Warren Manor Nursing Home in Warren, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Heim was born on February 9, 1920, in Winfield, PA, to the late, I. F. and Sabina Heim.

Tom received an agricultural education degree from Penn State University in 1942. Following World War II, he taught agricultural education to veterans. He also owned the Heim Poultry Farm, delivering eggs throughout Lycoming County, from 1949 to 1965. He worked for Purdue University’s School of Animal Science from 1972 until his retirement as the Manager of the Poultry Farm.

A serious student of the Bible, Tom taught Sunday school most of his adult life. He and his wife, Norma, were active church members wherever they went. Early on, they were longtime members of the Hepburn Baptist Church near Williamsport. Then moving to NY, they became members of the Rushville United Methodist congregation. Soon after they headed for Indiana, where the Central Christian Church in Terre Haute, then the Federated Church in West Lafayette and later the Christian Church at Zionsville were blessed with their presence.

Tom was a lifetime member of the West Lafayette Lions Club. Despite being a loyal Penn State fan, he enjoyed his many years serving as an usher and ticket taker at Purdue’s football, basketball, and baseball games.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma I. (LeVan) Heim; two daughters, Lyn Kell and her husband, Gary, Warren, and Joy Heim and her husband, Grant Mabie, Indianapolis, IN; a son, Phil Heim, Ada, MI; seven grandchildren, Justin and Tad Kell, Justin, Julian, and Natalia Mabie, and Taylor and Hayden Heim; one great-grandchild, Cole Kell; and by many nieces and nephews.
