Koch married a second time, at age 46, Sarah Young, age 41, daughter of David Young and Rachel Kiess, on Thursday, 20 September 1860 at Crawford County, Ohio. John B. Koch died on 9 January 1894 at Whetstone Township, Crawford County, Ohio, at age 79 years, 6 months and 29 days.
