Ernest W. Mahaffey was born on 10 May 1930.1 He was the son of William Lester Mahaffey and Sarah Esther Kinley. Ernest W. Mahaffey married Roberta A. Forsyth, daughter of Gurney Forsyth and Juanita [—?—], circa 1955.1,2 Ernest W. Mahaffey died on 25 April 2007 at age 76 years, 11 months and 15 days.1
His obituary was published on 6 May 2007 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. His obituary stated:
Ernest W. Mahaffey, 76, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, died April 25, 2007, following an automobile accident that also claimed the life of his wife, Roberta.
Born May 10, 1930, he was the son of the late William and Sarah (Kinley) Mahaffey.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald of Panama City, FL and Bruce of Fountain, FL; a daughter Linda Preston of Davis, CA; three brothers Ray, Cliff and Bob of Williamsport; five sisters, Edna Confer of Linden, Helen Thacher and Carol Dawes of Syracuse, Peg Dawes of S. Williamsport and Diane Plank of Liberty; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a son Eugene and a granddaughter Tanya Cowles.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Quiggleville U.M. Church, S.R. 973 W., Cogan Station.1
