     Lucy E. Updegraff was born on 19 December 1845 at Shelby County, Indiana.1 She was the daughter of Joseph Updegraff and Eliza Jane Miller. Lucy E. Updegraff married, at age 24, Albert L. Charles on Thursday, 30 December 1869 at Maryville, Nodaway County, Missouri.1 Lucy E. Updegraff died in February 1928 at Maryville, Nodaway County, Missouri, at age 82 years and 1 month.1
