Herman Cope

M, (16 July 1789 - 3 March 1869)
     Herman Cope was born on 16 July 1789 at York County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of John Cope and Mary Updegraff.1 Herman Cope married, at age 23, Mary Grier, age 22, daughter of Robert Grier and Mary [—?—], on Tuesday, 9 March 1813.1 Herman Cope died on 3 March 1869 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, at age 79 years, 7 months and 15 days.1
     Herman was a Director of the Bank of North America for a short time, later he was a founding Director of the Western Savings Fund Society, he was also a 3rd Assistant Cashier at Second Bank of the United States, and later the state charted it as The Bank of the U.S. of PA. He was also superintendent of the Supervisor Debt.
