     Mary Updegraff was born in 1768.1 She was the daughter of Harmon Updegraff and Lydia Heald. Mary Updegraff first married John Cope, age 22, son of Caleb Cope and Mary Mendenhall, on Wednesday, 13 September 1786 at York County, Province of Pennsylvania, USA.1 Mary Updegraff married a second time Amos James, son of Thomas James and Ann [—?—], on Wednesday, 12 June 1811 at York County, Pennsylvania.1 Mary Updegraff died in 1831 at Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland, at age 63 years.1
