Edward E. Kiess was born on 1 February 1860 at Cogan Station, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Jacob Kiess and Elizabeth Steiger. Edward E. Kiess married, at age 26, Regina Elizabeth Heim, age 24, daughter of Jacob Heim III and Maria Christine Schäfer, on Saturday, 25 December 1886.1 Edward E. Kiess died on 26 March 1926 at Warrensville, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 66 years, 1 month and 25 days. He was buried in the Christian Hill Cemetery, located in Eldred Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
