     John George Kurz was born on 23 July 1820 at Schönaich, Oberamt Böblingen, Neckarkreis, Württemberg.2 He was the son of Johann George Kurz and Dorothea Nagel.1 John George Kurz first married, at age 24, Catherine Scherer, age 16 in October 1844 at Crawford County, Ohio.2 John George Kurz married a second time, at age 49, Katherine Geibler, age 23, daughter of Gottlieb Geibler and Anna Maria Kuegler, on Tuesday, 28 September 1869 at Crawford County, Ohio.2 John George Kurz died on 5 September 1903 at Schearer farm, Whetstone Township, Crawford County, Ohio, at age 83 years, 1 month and 13 days.2
     John George's surname has also been spelled as Kurtz. He immigrated in 1831 to Pennsylvania.1 He immigrated circa 1842 to Crawford County, Ohio.2
