     Jacob Kurtz was born in 1846 at Whetstone Township, Crawford County, Ohio. He was the son of John George Kurz and Catherine Scherer.3 Jacob Kurtz married Caroline Stoltz, age 27, daughter of Michael Stolz and Maria Kober, on Wednesday, 20 March 1872.3 Jacob Kurtz married Christina Kober circa 1874.3 Jacob Kurtz died in 1916 at age 70 years. He was buried in the Scherer Cemetery, located in Whetstone Township, Crawford County, Ohio.
