Mary Catherine Kurtz was born on 4 October 1874 at Whetstone Township, Crawford County, Ohio. She was the daughter of John George Kurz and Katherine Geibler.1 Mary Catherine Kurtz married, at age 26, Simeon F. Sherer, age 36, son of Samuel Scherer and Elizabeth Haller, on Wednesday, 5 June 1901.1 Mary Catherine Kurtz died in 1970 at age 95 years. She was buried in the Scherer Cemetery, located in Whetstone Township, Crawford County, Ohio.
