     Aaron Thompson Moffitt was born on 16 January 1846 at Chatham County, North Carolina.1 He was the son of Middleton Jones Moffitt and Alice Mildred Craven.1 Aaron Thompson Moffitt married, at age 24, Prudence Juliet Yoakum, age 17, daughter of Moses Yoakum and Elizabeth Grimes, on Sunday, 23 January 1870 at Ray County, Missouri.1 Aaron Thompson Moffitt died on 6 April 1933 at Knoxville Township, Ray County, Missouri, at age 87 years, 2 months and 21 days.1
