     David D. Kiess was born circa 1846 at Anthony Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Leonard Kiess and Elizabeth Kiess.1 David D. Kiess married Dorothy Gross, daughter of John Gross and Dorothea Wagner, circa 1870.2,1 David D. Kiess died on 4 November 1914 at Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.1
