     Dorothy Gross was born on 25 March 1841 at Blooming Grove, Hepburn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of John Gross and Dorothea Wagner.1 Dorothy Gross married David D. Kiess, son of Leonard Kiess and Elizabeth Kiess, circa 1870.2,1 Dorothy Gross died on 11 February 1927 at Edon, Williams County, Ohio, at age 85 years, 10 months and 17 days.1
     She was widowed at age 73 by the death of David on 4 November 1914.1
