Wanda Mae Waltz was born on 20 October 1942 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Kenneth S. Waltz and Olive Della Foulk. Wanda Mae Waltz married Theron J. Fox Jr., son of Theron J. Fox and Mary M. VanDine, in 1963. Wanda Mae Waltz died on 27 December 2001 at Watsontown, Delaware Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, at age 59 years, 2 months and 7 days.1 She was buried on 29 December 2001 in the Buchanan Baptist Church Cemetery, located in Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
Her obituary was published on 28 December 2001 in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, printed in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. Her obituary stated:
Wanda Mae Fox, 59, of Watsontown, formerly of Muncy, is at home with her Savior. She passed into glory on Dec. 27, 2001, at home with her family after battling pancreatic and liver cancer since 1993. Born Oct. 20, 1942, in Williamsport, she was the first-born daughter of Kenneth and the late Olive Waltz of Linden.
Wanda graduated from the Williamsport High School in 1960. After graduation, she worked at Fox s Restaurant in Montoursville before going on for training as a Child Evangelism Missionary. Wanda also attended Philadelphia College of the Bible.
Mr. and Mrs. Fox have enjoyed 38 precious years of marriage. From their marriage, three children were born - first-born son, Theron J., III, daughter Heidi S. Potter and youngest son, Todd J. Mrs. Fox is survived by her spouse, Theron (Jack) Jr., children, father and parents through marriage, Jack and Mary Fox. Mrs. Fox s joys were her seven grandchlidren. Wanda had four siblings - two brothers, Larry and David Waltz, and two sisters Jeanette Kidd Waltz and Sue Green.
Besides waitressing at the family business, she was also a housekeeper, pianist and recorded singer. Being a homemaker and a pastor's wife were her treasured occupations. Her greatest satisfactions came from her family, especially being a Granny. She also enjoyed her many precious friends.
Wanda was active in her church, New Columbia Community Church and former West Milton congregation. She will be remembered by many for her consistent happy attitude, compassionate heart, caring words and most beautiful smile.
Funeral services will be held at Buchanan Baptist Church on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with friends received 11-11:30 a.m. in the church. Burial will immediately follow the services. Interment will also be at Buchanan, with a luncheon provided afterwards. Family and friends are encouraged to stay for fellowship and sharing
In lieu of flowers, Wanda s wishes were for family and friends to plant a dogwood tree and / or provide trees (or local nursery gift certificates) for her family to plant at their private residence. Her wishes were to remember her with every season of the tree s life symbolizing the resurrection. Arrangements by Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.
Directions to church: West on Fourth St. to John Powell dealership, right on Daugherty Run Road, continuing three miles to right on Grimesville Road; church will be on left.
