Robert Daniel Spotts was born on 11 January 1912.1 He was the son of Daniel E. Spotts and Margaret Hunt. Robert Daniel Spotts married, at age 24, Ellen Eleanor Foresman, age 19, daughter of George McClelen Foresman and Anna Barnes, on Tuesday, 23 June 1936 at United Methodist Church, Montandon, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, by the Reverend Benjamin Gould. Robert Daniel Spotts died on 17 March 1992 at age 80 years, 2 months and 6 days.1

COUPLE OBSERVES 40th ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Spotts, 1022 Park Avenue, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They were married in the Montandon Methodist Church by the Rev. Benjamin Gould.
Mrs. Spotts is the former Eleanor Foresman. Her husband is employed by Grit Publishing Company. Both are city natives.
The couple was honored at a dinner at the Runway View Restaurant, Montoursville, given by their three sons: John, this city; Victor P., Trout Run, and Robert D. Jr., Chambersburg. There are five grandchildren.

FOREMAN AT GRIT PLANS TO RETIRE
A Grit employee with more than 48 years of service will retire February 1.
Robert D. Spotts, of 1022 Park Avenue, will retire as plate foreman in the photo-mechanical department. He began his career at Grit in September 1928 in the former stereotype department.
A member of the Grit Quarter Century Club, Mr. Spotts is a native of Williamsport. He plans to do some work around the house after he retires. He is also planning a trip to Hawaii with his wife, the former Eleanor Foresman, this summer.
Mr. Spotts' last day of work will be January 22. He will then go on vacation for a week and a day before his retirement becomes effective. in 1976.
