Joseph Ulmer was born on 12 January 1840 at Rose Valley, Gamble Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Jacob Ulmer and Margaretha Heim. Joseph Ulmer married Sarah Waltz, daughter of George Waltz and Katharina Strobel. Joseph Ulmer died in 1925 at Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, at age 84 years.1 He was buried in the Wildwood Cemetery, located in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.1
